Vol. 3 Issue 8 is the eight issue of the third The Darkness comic series volume. This is the first part of Crooked story arc.
Synopsis[]
Jackie is back in the US, but he's no longer the wielder of the The Darkness. In order to regain his status, he is working in some decent jobs like gunrunning. While slaughtering a local gang, Jackie was interrupted by Aphrodite IV, who was last seen testing her abilities against Sara Pezzini in New York.
Without the powers of the Darkness, what chances does Jackie has against this gorgeous assassin? And maybe more important, what is the organization she works for planning to do with Estacado?

Plot Summary[]
Jackie meets Dick Garber, a man that owns a warehouse full of guns. He manages to convince Dick to let him take a new shipment of shotguns for Jackie to sell. Meanwhile, Aphrodite IV watches his every move as Sovereign talks to her through a radio. Jackie then leaves and travels to his apartment from which he was evicted. He takes few things and peels off dying skin from his hand.
Jackie goes to the warehouse to take the guns. The security lets him in thinking that it's Garber. Jackie then takes the shipment of shotguns and leaves.
Elsewhere, a gangster is watering his pigs for his uncle. At that moment Jackie arrives with the guns. He shows the weapons to the gangster and reveals to have doubled the price of them. Jackie says that he won't sell the guns to them and decides to leave. The gangsters open fire on him. Because of his powers, Jackie survives the gunshots and then fires back at them. As Jackie finishes off the gangster, Aphrodite sneaks up on him. She proceeds to attack him, causing Jackie to retreat further into the pig barn. Having run out of ammo, Jackie throws a pig at her. Aphrodite with little effort cuts the pig in half and shoots incendiary arrows, weakening him. She then subdues him and takes Jackie to Sovereign.
Some time later, Jackie wakes up in an empty hospital. As he begins to explores it, Jackie finds Sovereign looking at an old painting. Jackie asks him if he is dead to which Sovereign answers that Estacado isn't so fortunate. To be continued...
