Early History[]
The boat was owned by Chicago mafia families, who used it to ship drugs to Pier 19 for years. In order to find out when the coast is clear, they kept a secret radio at Grinder's Lane, which they used to call in the boat.
The Darkness[]
After Paulie Franchetti attacks Aunt Sarah's apartment, Jackie goes to Grinder's Lane and calls in the boat to Pier 19. He then proceeds to attack the boat and kill its captain. Jackie then leaves Santa Maria, which quickly leaves the harbor.
